Book Discussion: "The Learning Tree" by Gordon Parks

In February, we will discuss famous photographer Gordon Parks' 1963 novel, The Learning Tree. Books are available to borrow one month prior to the book discussion. Pick up your copy when you attend the January discussion, or stop by the 2nd floor Reference Desk to check one out. John Edgar Tidwell, Professor Emeritus at KU, will lead the discussion. This program is part of our 2024 series Talk About Literature in Kansas (TALK). TALK book discussions bring communities together for engaging conversations over good books. This semester we will look at “The Kansas Experience” by reading and discussing 3 books by Kansans, and we will end with a film discussion. We will have drawings for free books at each event.
