June 26th - "Choose Your Own Adventure" Party

Join us for informal evenings of chess. Volunteers will be available to help players of all levels learn chess basics and try different strategies. Chess Night is more social than competitive, so plan to have fun and make new friends.

Caregivers sit with their little ones to sing, clap and play along with rhymes, read a short book together, and have shaker music time. Learn a new word in baby sign language each week.

June 27th - "Magic Tree House" Party

Hang out with other book lovers in this nontraditional book club to talk about mystery and true crime books and discuss what each of us has read in the past month.

June's featured animal: frogs! The zoo and the library team up to present a fun storytime for ages 3 and up with books on the big screen, active songs, and lots of animal sounds and poses. Learn about an animal that lives at Sunset Zoo.

Let's build together! K-2nd graders will build a new structure each week using the library's Legos. Socialize with other kids and use your imagination! Children may attend independently.

Saturday storytimes combine the best elements of all our storytimes to suit a wide range of ages so that the whole family can attend together. We will read stories, sing songs, learn rhymes and dance to music with shakers.

New to technology? Have a question about your phone or device? A librarian will be on site to help older adults with questions about their computers, tablets and phones. Meet at the Manhattan Senior Center, 301 North 4th Street.
