Family storytimes combine the best elements of all our storytimes to suit a wide range of ages so that the whole family can attend together. We will read stories, sing songs, learn rhymes and dance to music.

Manhattan Public Library Auditorium 

Come and socialize with fellow knitting and crocheting enthusiasts! All levels of experience welcome. Work on your yarn and textile projects and craft with others.

Librarians will present an active storytime for children ages 3 and up, with books on the big screen, action rhymes and music. We incorporate various fun activities such as instruments, scarves, puppets and parachute time.

On Tuesday afternoons we will have fun options for teens in the Teen Zone including special crafts, board games, or just time to chat with one of our librarians. What would you like to do?

Let's build together! K-5th graders will build a new structure each week using the library's Legos and their imagination.

Stories, songs, rhymes, exercises, and calming techniques will be included in evening storytimes. Kids and grown-ups are welcome to come dressed in their pajamas.

Join us for informal evenings of chess. Volunteers will be available to help players of all levels learn chess basics and try different strategies. Chess Night is more social than competitive, so plan to have fun and make new friends.
