Event Details

Cosplay is a prevalent hobby of many people attending cons, and is especially popularized in Japan. To join in on the fun, anime club is hosting a cosplay competition! All novice cosplayers are welcome to wear costumes based on their favorite anime characters, and judges will crown a winner! Rules of the event are listed below.

Club members are welcome to attend the event without a costume. We will talk about cosplaying techniques, crafting strategies, and watch Crunchyroll anime about cosplay!

Rules of the cosplay event:

  1. Character types are not limited to anime, although they are e ncouraged. Consider videogame characters as well as manga and anime characters. Please bring a reference picture with you!
     
  2. The Cosplay Contest is rated TEEN. Offensive language and sexual humor is not cool. Be clever, not crass. Judgment on the appropriateness of material is left to the discretion of library staff
    • Staffs and wands are allowed in the contest. Be creative when decorating!
    • Fake or real swords and guns are not allowed in the library.
       
  3. Cosplayers are encouraged to act as their characters, however, obscene language, gestures, fighting is not allowed and these actions may result in disqualification.
