True Colors Event

True Colors will host a community presentation with the purpose of community engagement and open dialogue opportunities for adult caregivers and allies (parents, guardians, school staff, community members, etc.) of LGBTQIA+ youth in the Flint Hills area. The purpose of this event is to educate community members on the common risk factors associated with LGBTQIA+ youth identity and teach them how to support and affirm LGBTQIA+ youth in private and public spaces. Opportunities for open dialogue will give adult community members a safe space to ask questions, discuss challenges, and build community. True Colors aims to increase allyship and strengthen protective factors for the youth we serve by working with a group that our youth commonly identify as a source of stress and frustration.
