MPL Book Club Fall/Winter 2025 Discussion: "The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe

Join us for a chilling evening of literary suspense as we dive into Edgar Allan Poe’s haunting masterpiece, "The Tell-Tale Heart." Register in advance and pick up a free copy of the book at the library's Reference Desk on the 2nd floor. Discussion will be held in the Grosebeck Room on Thursday, Oct. 16, 6:30-8:00 pm. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. See you there!

What's in store for book club? This short story of guilt, madness, and the thin line between sanity and obsession is a cornerstone of gothic literature and psychological horror. Together, we’ll explore Poe’s signature themes—unreliable narration, the power of conscience, and the eerie rhythm of a guilty heart.

Perfect for: Fans of classic literature, horror, and anyone curious about what really lies beneath the floorboards.

🕰️ Bring your sharpest insight... and maybe leave the lights on.

Registration required; space is limited. Program funded by MLA, the Friends of the Library.
