Purpose of Meeting
We're KawPoint Fibershed, an affiliate that encompasses the 150mi radius around KawPoint, the confluence of the Kansas and Missouri Rivers and this fibershed is open to building our communities around fiber.
These lands are the ancestral homelands of the Kaw, Osage, Kikapoo, and many other peoples. They were stewards of this land and creators of the original regenerative fiber and textile systems here. We include areas in 5 states: Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and a tiny bit of Oklahoma. Major cities in our Fibershed include Kansas City, Columbia, Jefferson City, Sedalia, Joplin, Kirksville, Lawrence, Topeka, Manhattan, Abilene, and Emporia.
