Celebrate Kansas Reads to Preschoolers Week by reading to a young child in your life! This year's featured book is How Do You Hug a Porcupine? by Laurie Isop. All families attending a storytime this week will get a free book.
Kansas Reads to Preschoolers is an annual event that promotes reading to all Kansas children from birth through age five. Through the statewide program, parents, librarians and caregivers are encouraged to read the chosen title during a selected week and month.
Try our StoryWalk® Indoors featuring How Do You Hug a Porcupine? Start at the Children's desk and look for the numbered signs around the Children's Room. Read pages as you walk around, and visit the desk when you are done for a small prize. Available during open library hours, November 18-December 1.
