Kansas children’s book author, H.C. Friesen, will answer the question: Where did the inspiration for the characters in my book Janey Olsen, Famous Artist of the Beach come from? 

Janey Olsen, Famous Artist of the Beach is a book for upper elementary and for all ages to enjoy. This inspiring realistic children’s fiction story is written from the viewpoint of ten-year-old Janey Olsen vacationing with her family on the Outer Banks of North Carolina at Kitty Hawk. The book is a recent winner of the Kansas Author’s Club 2022 Children’s Book Award as well as “It Looks Like a Million” Book Award for illustration and design. Books for sale at the event include: Janey Olsen, Famous Artist of the Beach and Five True Rusty Stories.
